Vivian Blake farewell
my dearest friend
April 18, 2010 Some call him a heartless monster,
and not a man with a heart of gold. Some call him a common thug and not a man that never knew the word no to anyone in need.
Some say he should have died a violent death but the “Greater I am” said differently. Vivian Blake was such a
gentle giant who loved so hard, although others that didn’t know him says differently. He spoke of his big plans with
excitement of things he wanted to do once he returned to his beloved Jamaica. He spoke of doing movies giving the youth a
chance of learning the industry etc.
Vivian Blake returned to Jamaica faced with tons of warnings. He looked death threats in their
wicked faces and defeated them all. Many spoke of killing him they accused him of killing his own brother they did all that
behind closed doors and fake user names over the internet. Vivian Blake’s heart was broken with the unfulfilled promises,
from the ones he loved most. He died a disappointed man but he died of Natural Causes. He gave up his will to live, because his heart couldn’t take anymore. No more
rumors, fake best wishes, no more knifes in his back.
To think that a man of Vivian Blake’s caliber final stand would be quoted
in Jamaica papers as in one stating:
The Jamaica Star On-Line: The magnificent setting of the Holy Trinity Cathedral
was grossly underutilized
They went on to say that there were more Police (which were only 20) in attendance
but more than friends and family. I even saw on one blog that one person said that Christopher Michael “Duddus”
Coke got the last laugh that he wouldn’t allow Vivian Blake to be buried in Tivoli Gardens and forbid others from attending.
I couldn’t believe it. To think that the man Vivian called a
friend at least to me and I know Vivian considered me a close friend and confidant (with hundreds of correspondences from
him to prove it). I was going to do an article on the man they call the Don of Tivoli Garden Duddus, investigating the relationship
between him and the Prime Minister in regards to the case that the United States has against him. Vivian firmly asked me not
to. So I honored his request and didn’t write the piece.
How could anyone forbid a man that loved Tivoli Garden so much that was born
and raised there, but was forbidden to be laid to rest in his community? As one
brave elderly lady said at his funeral “so it go Vivian so it go”. If
this was Duddus final act of disrespect for Vivian Blake it shows the character of him which none is, he definitely has none.
Such an act is classless plain and simple. The reason a National Television Show (BET) would produce an episode on “The
Shower Posse” was because of Vivian Blake the way the man carried himself, not condoling the terrible deeds that the
organization committed but that he wasn’t just another ignorant thug. Vivian Blake showed how anyone could get caught
up, because of hopelessness. I can
say with certainty that Vivian Blake in his term of power would never forbid anyone from Tivoli Gardens the choice to select
Tivoli as their final resting place, for mere purpose of flexing… That’s where Character plays a key role either
you have it or you don’t.
Many are rejoicing over his death, but he got the last laugh. I can see him
now laughing loud with that infectious laugh of his… No man took him out, he left on his own. Although I cried a many
tears of sadness that soon turned into tears of joy because I know that he is now at peace. Vivian Blake is in a better place
now no one can harm him, rumors, nor false promises can’t disappoint him. My friend is at peace now. To those that didn’t
do what you were supposed to do for him while he was alive… it’s on you. You may be going on benefiting off his
name and his relates to you, but when your day comes you will see it again. And I have over 400+ letters from him stating
his disappointment…
Farwell Handsome you proved to be my closest friend as you always said that you were…rest
in peace it has been more than an honor to have known and loved you…
