Who will Cry for the Children Suffering in America

Who will cry for the children suffering in America

I feel compelled to write this piece, after the media frizzy over Michael Vick, Jena 6, Black Woman tortured by six whites, and etc. Everybody has an opinion and the right to voice it, that’s the American way.

First off my heart hurts when I see a child in Africa sleeping on the ground no food neither clothing nor any parents. The sight of that tears at my heart, when I see any child be it a third world country or here that has not. American is a blessed Country and I feel that they live by to whom must is given must is expected. Millions upon millions of dollars are building schools in Africa which is great every child has a right to be educated and kept safe.

We have American children in the rural parts of this country that actually live as if they are in a third world country. In 2007 there are America children that are computer illiterate, going to bed at night without enough food. They are going to school only to be told that you aren’t going to be anything so just do whatever, (by teachers). We have athletics excellent athletes that are in Rural America that don’t even know what a highlight video is because the Coaches aren’t advocates for them. So they end up in front of the local grocery store or walking up and down the road with an idle mind.

We have millions of poor people sick and uninsured; I’m not speaking of the unemployed but working poor, whom by some standard don’t qualify for Medicaid because they make a dollar over the limit. I recently have been visiting the Deep South; I see children that want to have hope but can’t imagine doing anything with their lives. Well one might say it’s their parents fault they shouldn’t had the babies. Well I find that people do what they know. If they know not they do not. You have children with nothing constructive to do but play in the dirt. No place to go that has the educational resources that are within their reach.  No expectations, children at the age of 7 or earlier thinking about sex when they should be reading a book. The thing is they would read a book if they were in an environment that advocated reading and doing positive activities.

While as Americans are tripping on BS like the unworthy current headline news with the exception of a few news worthy stories. We need to address being an Advocate for all our children. Race has nothing to do with it. We have poor white children who are living like they are in third world countries just as blacks.  The racism issue is just a shame we fight against each other and are jokes to the world. How can America lead anybody and they are beating each other have no respect for each other and look at the treatment of their children.

There is no excuse this is the land of plenty. Opportunity is here, and knowledge is power. That’s where we need to start. We need to put down our meaningless excuses and make something positive happen. Start with the children, children are like ants they take what they learn home. Any parent with the slightest mental capacity wants the best for their children.

Everybody doesn’t want to be rich, a doctor, a lawyer, or whatever. But they deserve the right to be what they want to be with hope. I haven’t met a person yet that doesn’t want better for their children than themselves. I’m sure there are some but I haven’t met them. Everybody is always ready to point the finger, rap is destroying our world. During the recent Jena 6 march in Jena Louisiana one of the member of UGK Bun B stated this is a racism issue and it isn’t he went on to say that this is a human issue, and ended by saying that we have more in common then we would like to think. Now here is a guy that says bitch and whore in his lyrics. He made the most sense out of all the other BS I heard. It was simple to the point and straight from the heart.

We want to have such morals about a black man calling a woman a bitch or rappers using profanity. We should be more offended that our children can’t read, write or count by the time they graduate from high school. We should be offended that we have Americans dying of health problems that could have been prevented if they had insurance. We should be offended that responsible parents can’t raise their children the way they were raised and the children are growing up too fast. Until we begin to instill in our children morals, self-respect of themselves and others, we are going no where fast.

Racism is ignorance and it kills. No child left behind is a joke. It should be no child left without, how about that? How can a child learn with the social pitfalls it faces? Such as homelessness, no lights, parents in jail, or low morale.  We are building more jails than schools a modern day form of legalized Slavery.

The best Crime Prevention is Opportunities and Education. Please America, stop the generation curses. Just because your forefathers did it doesn’t make it right. No race is better than another; we all need each other for the sake of all our children. Everybody doesn’t want help and the poor will always be with us. But for the ones who do want help let’s help them.  Who will cry for the children of America?
